INFORMATION CENTER IN LIMASSOL

EXPLORING FORM

July 2013

An Information Center located at the entrance of The Archaeological Park of Ancient Amathunta in Limassol.

The Center was designed according to the Principles of Sustainable Architecture. The design minimizes negative environmental impact for the area, promotes archaeological findings while at the same time maximizes energy efficiency by full utilization of the solar energy.  The façade of the building is mostly glass where as alucobond was used for the north side in order to reflect the sea and city lights across the way. A glass bridge and a glass elevator link the indoors and the beach thus achieving direct access. The result is a multipurpose building which perfectly blends with the area without ruining one of the most significant ancient kingdoms.
