About me

Thanks for visiting my website, I hope you enjoy it. Kindly note that I only use this online platform to share samples of my university projects, collaborations, freelancing opportunities and my artistic experimentations. If you wish to discuss my work experience in practice (and see examples of that), please contact me using my details provided on my contact sections of this page.

Now, let me give you a brief description of Who Am I.

My name is Panayiota Christoforou; you might also know me as Peny, I'm a Greek-Cypriot, proud Limassolian, Northumbria alumni and currently a Manchester - UK resident. I'm a 2nd year Master student at Manchester School of Architecture ( RIBA Part II) with broad experience in different positions within the industry. I have a passion for detail aesthetics, interest in construction practices and sustainable methodologies. I enjoy working in a team and collaborating with different professionals. I always consider clients' brief a priority and work towards a quality output.

“For me, a successful design combines ideas from different disciplines like art, science, philosophy and literature”. I have a great interest in, archival and ethnographical research methodologies, and my writings (and often my practice) refer to subjects such as the Postmodernism in the UK, the 80s media architecture, and the influence of Economics and Politics in Architecture development. I have recently submitted my master dissertation with the title " Construction helps countries exit economic recession: What are the effects on architecture?". The research focuses on the current real estate boom in Limassol and the government's incentives for exiting the 2013 financial crash. For my final thesis project, I have joined PRAXXIS, an atelier which through Feminism theories explores new political inequalities and social movements.
